"Simply put, color and texture are my favorite toys. Since childhood, I have loved the way these aspects of art evoke a variety of emotions. I explore other avenues in my work — line, form, edges — but I continue to be fascinated by how color and texture can be endlessly celebrated in paint. My curiosity about the world has led me down many artistic paths: photography, craft, plein air painting, figurative work. But I feel most myself with a big brush in hand, building up layers on a big canvas in pursuit of capturing an idea, a moment, a singular image. This brings me joy, and it is this depth of feeling that I hope to share with those who engage with my paintings."
